Just checking in with a beautiful project share! Stephanie of Rehab to Fab created a gorgeous secretary desk using General Finishes Chalk Paint, Salt Wash and our Decor Transfers! Below is her written tutorial followed by images!

So I refinished this secretary desk months ago & it wouldn’t sell. I even put it in my neighbors garage sale (which I NEVER do!) which was a big mistake as the sun made the finish bubble. Well, that gave me an excuse to repaint it again.

To makes sure the previous finish didn’t come through on what I had planned I primed it with General Finishes new stain blocker & primer. What I LOVE about it is, it doesn’t stink & dried quick!! I mixed General Finishes milk paint, Linen & a little bit of Seagull gray with Saltwash. If you haven’t tried this new product, your missing out. I stippled the mix onto the piece. Focusing on putting higher peaks on the edges. I then went over the edges and areas I knew I’d distress with General Finishes chalk style paint in, Summer Blue. A beautiful subtle color. I then went over the entire piece with General Finishes chalk style paint in, Chalk White. Once that was dry I started wet distressing to pull back the layers of paint. Kept working the layers until I was happy. I used my favorite transfers from IOD to step it up a notch on this piece. Goes on in minutes! I used General Finishes Van Dyke Brown glaze to antique the piece & Flat out Flat to seal it.

I’d have to say, I’m MUCH happier with it the 2nd time around!
