DIY Holiday Fairy Ornaments with IOD Transfers

Pickin’ Boots Vintage

  1. Grab your wood rounds and limited release Fairy Merry Christmas Transfer (this would also work well with Holly Glen or Candy Cane Cottage). Rub the transfers onto your wood rounds.
  2. Add a pop of color to your transfers with some red paint, this will really come to life after you add some resin!
  3. Drill the tops of your ornaments and add a jewelry hook (this is where you will string your ribbon to hang the ornaments).
  4. Place your ornaments above the table on small jars so you can pour on resin. Mix up a 24-hour resin and pour in the center of each ornament and let it spread out, add more if needed for full coverage. Sprinkle some glitter around the edges for some extra magic. Let dry completely.
  5. Add your ribbon through the loop and hang it on your tree.

We hope you have fun making this project with IOD transfers, in addition to holiday decor, these would make wonderful holiday gifts!

Love this tutorial! I made a bunch of ornaments, but was shocked this am to see that the wood cracked where I put the hanging eye hook. I was careful to only drill in enough to screw it in. I used 1/2 in eye hooks. Has anyone else run into this issue? I’m hoping my glueing will save these adorable ornaments 😕

Aww Barbara, we’re so sorry to hear this! I haven’t had this happen before BUT you can submit a picture in our creative tribe group and I’m sure you would get lots of great feedback! I’ll link the group below in case you’re not in there yet🤗❤️❤️

I recently made a batch of 18 ornaments using this type of wood rounds. I added a base of mod podge, applied the transfers and then mod podged the top.
After a few days the transfers went really wrinkly. Do you have any suggestions on what I did wrong? Thanks!
