The ever elusive gallery wall. We’ve all seen them on Pinterest only to feel that ache in our souls, knowing it can never be ours. Ok, ok I’m being a little dramatic. Seriously guys we are huge lovers of the way a well arranged gallery wall can set off a room and add sophistication up the wazoo ( not a sophisticated term, I know.) But we’re keeping it real here. None of us, or I should say few of us, have a plethora of cash ready to be spent on wall art, especially enough to make an impact on a large wall!
Today we are debuting a video showing you how to get started on your very own IOD DIY Gallery Wall! We’ve taken a single sheet of 1/2″ Sande Smooth Plywood from Home Depot ( you can buy yours at any hardware store ) like this:
and turned it into this gallery wall ( with some wood to spare!!). TIP: If any of your pieces have any bow to them, work on the convex side. That way the edges lay flat to the wall and compensate for any slight bow.
I’m NOT KIDDING!! And it was FAST! You could get this done in a weekend my lovelies! We are going to do the entire series of videos for this wall, showing you just how easy and fast it is. But today we started with the Redoute Floral Vase and the Laurel Relief pieces ( shown on the very left side of this wall )
You can follow our wall verbatim OR you can use our techniques and principles to create your own version ( that’s what I’m going to do, this here is Josie’s wall, I have a wall I will be creating for later on that will be more cottage traditional farmhouse in style!)
Here is the template for your cuts. Print this out and take it to Home Depot or your favorite hardware store. Home Depot charges .50 Cents a cut! ( The Second image shows you which piece belongs where for the cuts for your reference ) And below that is the vase template as promised!
That’s all you guys need to get started! Let us know in the comments here or on our YouTube channel which ones you want us to show you next! Don’t forget to subscribe to our channel so you don’t miss any!

I have been watching each YouTube video and can’t wait to get my plywood cut, did you cut this st home or did the hardware store do it for you?

My local Home Depot laughed at me when I asked if I could pay to make the cuts. I am anxious to get started, but I got stuck on step one.
Hi Monica, oh no!! Try asking the employees at Home Depot to make the cuts for you in case that was their concern 🙂 I am so happy to hear you are getting started on your own gallery wall! Could you use the same technique for canvas – love your designs!!
Fabulous, God bless you two for making art fun and beautiful for us who are creatively dysfunctional.😆

WOW!!! That is fantastic! You two continue to inspire and amaze me with your talent!! And someone has my absolute favorite kind of sofa… a brown roughhewn leather Chesterfield sofa. I want one for our next couch and that is a really pretty one! It goes nicely with your gallery wall! <3

Loved the tutorial. I can’t wait to see how you did the boho picture and the one with the bird.
Will be ordering transfers soon.

This is so beautiful — I can’t wait to see all of the tutorials! Since you were kind enough to ask, my vote for the next tutorials are for the 2 large ones in the middle that use the midnight transfer (Midnight I & Midnight II). Next on my list are “Blossoms, “Classic Bouquet,” “BBB,” “Painterly Roses” and “Typeset.” Really love them all and will watch every video! Well done!!!
Thank you for the feedback, Mary! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed our first tutorial in our Gallery Wall series! To get ready for creating your very own gallery wall click here to find a brick and mortar store near you or here to see a list of well-stocked online stores. We would love to see your project, so do not forget to join our creative tribe on Facebook to share! Happy creating 🙂
I’m SO inspired by these and can’t quit thinking about them —- love, love, love!!!! Do the transfers work on stretched canvases or alternatively on framing type mat board? And do you also have a tutorial for using the transfers?
Hi Mary! We are SO happy to hear our first Gallery Wall tutorial video inspired you! We have a great resource to help you in getting familiar with how to use Decor Transfers™. Please check out this video and instruction page here and be sure to join our thriving and supportive creative tribe community for help and encouragement here. Using our transfers on stretched canvas is off-label use, so unfortunately I cannot advise. However, I recommend asking for tips in our creative tribe, because I have seen creatives use our transfers on various materials! Happy creating 🙂
Gorgeous!! Please show the Midnight piece with the gold frame next!
Just checking in on the gallery wall series — love it so much and hope you do another inspirational wall with all the new products. By the way, I can’t find the video for how to make the larger art —midnight Garden 1 and 2. Have those videos been created yet? So eager to get started on my wall and wanted to start with these. Thanks for any info! Y’all are simply amazing and make creativity so accessible and inspirational for people like me.
Just popping by to ask if there are any plans to post the video that shows how to make the larger art — “midnight Garden 1” and “midnight Garden 2” (or did I just miss this video)? I keep checking back in hopes that will be posted as I can’t wait to make this!
Thank you for the tutorial and the vase template. I cannot draw. You ladies have changed the DIY world. You know that right? God Bless you!
❤❤
Hello ladies!
I just binge watched all of your videos (benefit of quarantine?) I am just wondering if I missed the episode with the two Midnight pieces? They are so beautiful!!
Thanks!
Hi Jessica,
No, you did not miss it. It is still on our list!Hopefully soon.
Thank you
I am totally addicted to your products and in the last 6 weeks have made three stockists in my area very happy. I have enjoyed immensely building and learning techniques by building the gallery wall. I was SO SHOCKED when I used the kindest regards stamp a few times and then took time to try to read it. It was 10:30 at night and I was running through the house waking up my family. The name the letter is written to was my father’s name…Lloyd Garrison Patton. He has passed away just a few years ago. It was the family tradition to name the second son that name. My grandfather was named Lloyd Garrison Patton as well. We sent a copy to my Aunt who the history buff and it was the Boston side of the family that this letter was written. I took this as a sign that my father approved of my new hobby. So with his blessing I am enjoying this products to the max! Thank you ladies! By the way you two are the cutest..love to see your antics shine through on the videos.
Hi Tracey! OMG, that is absolutely A-MA-ZING. We totally agree it must be a sign.
Thank you so much for sharing that story. It actually gave me goosebumps.
Have a blessed day!💖🙏
