We absolutely adore the influencers that completely deck their homes out for every season, but that isn’t always realistic for day-to-day “super mamas” who have their hands full! We’re in the same boat and we totally get it!

Sometimes we go through seasons where decorating seems like a distant dream, but we’re here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing! If you’re overwhelmed by the amount of time, planning, shopping and executing it takes to decorate, we have some tips for you to manage decorating your home each season!

And for all you ladies out there who don’t want to decorate, that’s okay! You’re still an amazing mama! 😉

5 TIPS FOR KEEPING SEASONAL DECOR DOABLE!

1. Make small tweaks to your everyday decor.

Most of us have decor ensembles somewhere in our homes, either on an entryway table, your mantle, dining room table, coffee table or island in the kitchen. Most of the time, these areas can be easily bumped toward a festive feel. For instance, a few seasonally colored sprigs poked into the foliage of a planter, a seasonally themed sign tucked into an everyday wreath, or like I did, you can switch out a candle for a pumpkin on top of that candlestick. When you start looking around you will find a lot of ways to pop in some fun seasonal decor without starting from scratch!

2. Think seasons, not holidays! Keep things the same for larger blocks of time.

Keep it more general for the season. Think spring, not Easter, or fall and not Halloween! That way your decor will stay up for longer blocks of time. You can still throw little pieces in there for specific holidays, but it’s minimal which makes it more manageable!

3. Find dual-usage decor pieces that can work for multiple seasons!

You can find pillows that are fall themed on one side and Christmas on the other, door hangers that have interchangeable bows for the seasons and signs that are two-sided. There are too many examples of this to list, but you get the idea! Even if you don’t have a two-sided pillow, you can tuck your pillow cover for the next season into the pillow, similar to how we store a few trash bags at the bottom of the bin, making it a quick change when the time comes!

Think of all the storage you’ll save by finding double-duty solutions for your seasonal decorating!

4. Finally achieve a look you love? Don’t reinvent the wheel!

If you have something arranged that you love, don’t change it! Add in those little elements to your beautiful scape so you don’t have to completely break it down, figure out a new layout and then put it all back up again later.

5. Think outside the box and inside the budget!

Don’t have any decor that matches the season you’re decorating for? Incorporate some foliage or flowers from your yard! A snip of juniper in a pretty vase or fall-colored branches from your landscaping might just be that perfect accent to bring a little seasonal flair into your home.
