Did you know IOD is building a creative team with the most talented artists in the DIY industry? We are so excited to start introducing them to you and will be doing so here on our blog!
Many of you already know our first artists, as he is well known in the industry for his fabulous furniture artistry and wonderful tutorials. He was even an Artists in Residence for Annie Sloan!
MORE ABOUT JONATHON:
Jonathon Marc Mendes is a British furniture artist and blogger, based between coast and countryside in Lincolnshire, UK. He creates inspiring home decor in his new workshop at The Loft in Caistor, where he hosts real life workshops for students and films tutorials for his Painted Love Academy (https://jonathonmarcmendes.com) as well as sharing Facebook Lives with his 32K+ followers at Jonathon Marc Mendes – Painted Love (https://www.facebook.com/JMMPaintedLove)
Over a decade ago, Jonathon experimented with upcycling to combine his love of art and beautiful furniture, then discovered Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, which rekindled his love of home furnishings and design. This saw him became Annie Sloan’s most popular Painter in Residence in 2017, in Annie’s own words “the response was phenomenal”.
Jonathon Marc Mendes is one of the few furniture artists to be invited to travel the world sharing his unique techniques with paint stockists and furniture artists in Ireland, Greece, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa and Australia. The testimonials from his students speak volumes about the quality of his teaching style which is fun, easy to follow and always delivers remarkable results. He creates, styles and photographs all his own work.
In 2018 Jonathon became global creative ambassador for Saltwash and celebrated the first anniversary of his Painted Love Academy in Feburary 2019 with over 3000 students joining from at least 45 countries.
Jonathon is super excited to be working with IOD as he is a huge fan of the products and has already created some amazing work with their unlimited capacity for creation.
“My aim, for all of us, is to discover our inner creativity and feel that sense of achievement at what we can produce when we fuse a few practical skills with our imagination. I can’t wait to get to work with Iron Orchid Designs, I am thrilled to be asked to join the team!”
