5 Heartfelt Handmade Gifts with IOD

In a world full of quick clicks and overnight delivery, choosing to make something with your own two hands feels a bit like slowing time just long enough to pour love and intention into a gift.

Around here, we’ve always believed that creativity is one of the sweetest ways to say “you matter to me”. Stamped recipe cards for their most cherished family recipes…a fabulous vintage ornament... a keepsake box adorned in intricate inlays...these all become gifts they’ll remember receiving well into the years ahead.

And because we know how meaningful it is to give (and receive!) something handmade, we’ve gathered a collection of lovely project ideas you can craft this season. We’re sharing these projects as heartfelt gift ideas, but they’d be just as darling tucked into your own decor, too. 😉

So pull up a chair in your favorite little creative nook and join us in creating something made with heart for our loved ones this season. Visit our stockist locator to find everything you need. 🥰

Vintage Sophisticated Christmas Trays

Our dear friend Jonathon introduces his Paint Inlay application technique using lacquer, which is fabulous when you want to overlap inlays. Lacquer dries much faster than paint, which means you can apply your next inlay without waiting for that base layer to dry. It’s a dream if you’re building depth or creating a more detailed look.

This project is such a sweet way to create something meaningful this season while giving your creativity a little room to play. A handmade Christmas tray makes a gorgeous gift, and when it’s not serving up warm drinks and treats, it looks absolutely lovely displayed against your kitchen backsplash. DIY Beautiful Resin Coasters

You know that sweet shift that happens as the seasons change? The air feels softer, time slows just a touch, and suddenly we’re reminded to savor the simple moments again. Even in our busiest moments, carving out a bit of creative play is such a lovely way to pour love into the people we cherish, especially through handmade gifts.

We’ve had so many of our Creative Tribe friends curious about using resin with IOD Transfers, and this project is the perfect place to start. These ceramic coasters, dressed in Figgy & Flourish and Partridge Lane and finished with a glossy layer of UV resin, make the sweetest handmade gifts or elegant little touches for your own home. Check out the full tutorial on our blog

Handmade Vintage Brooches

We paired the delicate details of our Vintage Brooches Mould with the sweetest little gems from the Millot’s Pages Transfer. We used mushrooms, cherries, butterflies, and blooms that look like they came from a Victorian storybook. A soft coat of chalk-type paint, a touch of gilding, and dark wax bring out every last bit of vintage charm.

These beauties make darling jewelry and the loveliest handmade gifts. Imagine them tucked into a shadow box for someone special, tied onto a package as a keepsake ornament, or gifted as a beautiful, special occasion brooch. 🥰 Follow along with the full tutorial on our blog

DIY Ornate Holiday Ornaments

Create a collection of ornaments with multiple Bibelots 2 castings and turn it into a girls craft night or a festive craft with the kiddos turning each ornament into a shared memory. Visit our blog to check out the full tutorial.
