Debi Beard IOD Paint Inlay Reveal - Vida Flora
We are so excited to reveal our latest IOD Paint Inlay – Vida Flora! You can purchase from your IOD Stockist or Debi’s DIY Retailer. If you’re new to IOD Paint Inlays, we cover all the application basics in our Paint Inlay 101 Video.
Designed by Debi Beard, artist and creator of DIY Paint™, Vida Flora pays homage to her familial roots. Her family once crafted and sold vibrant Mexican “artesanía” folk art in their stores just south of the border. The lively and striking colors and designs of Vida Flora beautifully echo this rich heritage.
You’ll find the designs are carefully and thoughtfully put together, perfect for a variety of projects, big or small. From sweet, repeating designs that’ll look amazing on furniture edges or over doorways to bold, giant-facing birds that Debi just couldn’t resist (and you won’t be able to either!) – perfect for making a statement on large pieces like armoires or cabinets.
The bright, vibrant colors stand out on white colors and really pop on dark backgrounds as well. For those who like the Merry and Bright Christmas aesthetic – these could definitely be used for that.
For a natural, boho vibe, consider applying it on natural wood grains. The understated elegance really stands out, offering a laid-back and inviting look. Honestly, wherever you’re considering hand-painting, an inlay works wonders.
Remember, a little goes a long way with this inlay. Just a few pieces create a bold, striking statement, perfectly complementing primitive and country-style pieces. However, be cautious with heavily carved or ornate furniture styles as they might clash with the inlay’s bold design.
We’re also happy to share Debi’s Inspiration Board, which she’s been assembling for the last year. It’s chock-full of yummy folk inspo, sure to get the juices flowing for where you might apply Vida Flora in your own home. View the board here.
Delve deeper into the world of Vida Flora and Debi’s inspiration and stories in the behind-the-scenes interview with the IOD Sisters and Debi – it’s worth the watch!
How much fun it was to work with our dear friend Debi Beard on something so near and dear to her heart and history. We can’t wait to see the unique and beautiful creations you will make with this! ❤️
