You asked for them. We heard you. And we are so giddy that they're back. 🎉

Project 01 | 3D Bauble Ornaments
These baubles genuinely look like something you'd find in a specialty boutique, not something you made at your craft table. They are just that good. 😍
Start by pouring white casting resin into the Baubles Mould, taking care to fill all the detailed edges. Once the first castings have cured, flex the mould gently to release them.
For a finished ornament with beautiful detail on both sides, cast the same shapes again, but this time you'll position a small jewelry bail in the mould before you pour, and fill it slightly more shallow than your first casting. Then carefully place a matching cured casting on top of the fresh resin, lining up the details, and allow the two halves to cure together. Set a timer for about ten minutes.
If the halves don't press together fully, or the jewelry bail needs a little extra support, a little adhesive along the edge brings them right back together and fills any gaps beautifully. You won't notice the glue once you paint.
For the finish, we used a mixing pigment powder with an infuser paint that contains a built-in topcoat. This one created a metallic finish and does not require additional sealing. Those little ridges and flourishes look especially lovely in gold. Thread twine through each jewelry bail and your first set is ready for the tree. 🙌
Project 02 | Vintage Coaster Ornaments with Boughs of Holly
Round wooden coaster blanks make the most wonderful heavy-duty ornament bases. We love how they are sturdy, flat, and the perfect canvas for layering IOD details. 🥰
Give each coaster a coat of white chalk-style paint and let it dry completely. While that's drying, pour resin into the Boughs of Holly Mould and cure. Release the castings gently, taking extra care around the delicate tips.
For the first ornament, center one casting on the painted round and adhere it with our favorite glue, Titebond Quick & Thick. Press lightly for good contact and wipe away any excess adhesive with a soft cloth. For the second, we arranged three castings from the mould - the tallest tree in the center flanked by the smaller ones - to create a charming little winter forest. Screw an antique brass ring hanger into the top edge of each coaster, and they're ready to go!
Now for the technique that makes these ornaments truly special...
Brush soft grey glaze over the trees and across the background, working it into all the details, then wipe back the excess with a soft cloth. The glaze settles into the recesses and leaves the raised branches lighter. This technique will give that vintage aged look we love so much!
And why not add another detail?
In addition to a casting, we added our new Winter's Collection Gilded Transfer, Angels Sing, to these ornaments to give some variety. We rubbed it on top of the painted coaster to give it some shine, and finished it off with a little holly mould casting at the top. You could also add a design from Angels Sing to the backside of one of your other coasters to give a pretty view on both sides.
Project 03 | Glittered Snowflake Ornaments
Perfectly symmetrical, beautifully detailed, and covered in the softest icy glitter. We are loving the idea of using these snowflakes as a charming finishing touch for a holiday tree or a handmade gift. ❄️
Pour white resin into the Snowflakes Mould, guiding it carefully into all the fine points. Once cured, release each casting gently. These snowflakes work beautifully as 3D ornaments like our Baubles before, or single-sided. Just simply paint the backs white for a clean, finished look if you're going that way.
For hanging, you have options:
insert a jewelry bail
loop twine directly around one of the thin choke points in the design
or, tie two castings back to back for a dimensional ornament
All three work beautifully depending on the look you're going for.
For the finish, (and this might be our favorite technique in the whole tutorial), brush white paint over each snowflake, then, while the surface is still wet, sprinkle on fine glitter. The glitter adheres as the paint dries, which means it simultaneously decorates and seals the piece in one step. Shake away the excess, let them dry, and voilà! A stunning snowflake ornament you'll use every Christmas. 😍
And as you can see, we're also obsessed with making these gift package embellishments. Tie one to a ribbon, and your wrapping instantly looks elevated. 🎁
