How to Make Cheap Tile Look Expensive!

The title of this post may be a little misleading, because we’re going to show you SO much more than just how to upgrade your tile quickly and funly! ( oooh, new word!) The IOD Decor Stamp in Cubano is the unsung hero of Decor Stamps. Seriously one of our faves and an absolute versatile work horse! For instance, you can actually get numerous different patterns as you will see in some of the images and video we share here.

To start us off, check out this fun and quick video showing us using the Cubano Decor Stamp on some simple tumbled travertine tiles to create a rustic custom tile look!

Here is the same video, remixed so you can see the color using our china blue Decor Ink:

Have a floor that needs revamping? Look at how different the pattern looks in this video showing how my good friend Amy stamped her dated tile entry! ( By the way that was 9 months ago and it looks just as good as it did when she finished! )

Here are some other images people have shared with us!

Lynne Brundage of Ellen J. Goods KNOCKED it out of the park with this beautiful hutch! I love how she combined colors for a completely different look!

Can you do this on a wall? I have a bulk head I’d like to change it up, but I do t want to make tiles – I would just like to apply the design on the bulk head.

          Hi Dawn,

We would like to do our kitchen floor which is lux. vinyl with the Cubano stamp. Do we use ink or paint? Do we seal it with something? Please advise us any way you can.
      Thanks,
      Tim and Jill

Thinking about using this technique for a wall behind electric wood stove.

For the Cubano stamp on tiles, i would LOVE to do the 2 color such as the one you displayed. For that pale blue color, would I have to go in and hand paint that in after my original stamp has been applied and dried?

Hi Paige! I am SO happy to hear you would love to use our Cubano Decor Stamp in a project! For this two color effect you are correct; the stamp is applied first the paint dried, and you can paint within the design. Our products are only available through approved IOD stockists, so click here to find a brick and mortar store near you or here for a list of well-stocked online stores. Happy creating!

I would like to use this template to stencil my bathroom shower white tiles. Can you please tell me what you would suggest to use paint wise?
