Are you following our Easter tablescape series featuring the 2025 Spring Collection? We’re having so much fun sharing these sweet Easter projects with you! Today, we're working on darling place cards for a spring tablescape. 🤩

Place cards don’t usually steal the show, but these adorable little name tags are total charmers. We used the Apothecary Labels Stamp, beautiful touches from Countryside Memoirs, and soft watercolor treatments (because let’s be honest, we’re completely hooked on watercolors 😍). They're simple, pretty, and a delightful finishing touch to make your guests feel extra special.

Step-by-Step Guide

STEP ONE: STAMP YOUR COMPOSITION

First things first—grab your watercolor paper and stamps! We’re using the Countryside Memoirs set as our base because it’s full of charm. Depending on the size of your paper, you can probably get a few place cards out of one sheet. Just be sure to leave enough room to fold it in half so it stands up on its own (or cut them smaller if you’re using little stands—super cute either way!).

We’re stamping with our Stone Grey Ink. It gives you that crisp, detailed impression but with a softer edge that plays beautifully with watercolors. Ink up your stamp evenly, then press down with firm, steady pressure. Try not to wiggle it around. Let the ink fully soak into the paper before moving on. Some folks like to use a hair dryer or a fan to speed things up.

STEP TWO: PLAY WITH YOUR WATERCOLORS

Now it’s time to grab your watercolors! If you’re new to this, don’t be intimidated. Once you get going, it’s the most peaceful part of the whole project.

Pro Tip: Stamp a few extra impressions on your paper and give yourself space to play.

Quick watercolor tips to keep in mind: you’ll want to wet both your paint and your paper, so keep a little cup of water handy and a paper towel nearby for blotting. Once your paint is activated, take a clean brush and trace the outline of the flower and its interior. Then, dab in your color—we started with sweet pink florals and let the pigment naturally flow into the petals. If it starts to look like a puddle party, no worries! Just let it settle or gently blot with your paper towel.

Work your way through the individual flowers and leaves, and don’t forget the little banner—we added a touch of soft grey for shading. Want even more color? You can also decorate the interior of the frame itself. Some extra pastels in yellows, blues, or even green would be lovely!

No matter which method you choose, your casting will be looking luxe and luminous in no time!

STEP THREE: STAMP A NAME ON YOUR PLACE CARD

Once you're satisfied with your watercolor details, let everything soak in and dry before stamping the name. Especially if you painted the background—trust us, nobody wants a smudgy situation.

We used the Apothecary Labels Stamp to follow the shape of the banner. Just line up your letters on the included stamp liner to help with placement, ink them up with IOD Stone Grey Decor Ink, and then carefully hover over your design before pressing down.

Do you have a name with repeat letters? Just leave a little space and go back in after with the missing letter. Let everything dry, and you’ve got yourself a sweet little personalized place card.

STEP FOUR: CUT OUT THE PLACE CARDS

Next up, it’s time to trim! We used an IOD Thin Mount as our straight edge, but you can totally use whatever you have on hand—a ruler, a paper cutter, or anything that helps you get those clean, even cuts.

To give ours a little extra charm, we reached for a pair of pinking shears to create a sweet, scalloped edge all the way around. Then, we folded the card in half so it stands up nicely on the plate or at the head of the place setting.

Repeat these steps for each guest, and before you know it, you’ll have a whole lineup of adorable little name cards for your Easter table.
