HOW TO MAKEOVER A VINTAGE STORAGE CADDY WITH IOD STAMPS, MOULDS & TRANSFERS
If you're anything like us, you can't resist giving a beautiful vintage find a second life. In this project, our talented IOD Artisan Jonathon Marc Mendes transforms a vintage sewing caddy into the sweetest seed storage piece for a potting shed or garden room.
Using a custom olive green paint blend and the gorgeous Primrose Isle IOD Transfer, he turns a worn piece with plenty of history into something both practical and beautiful. The botanical details feel right at home among seed packets, garden tools, and spring blooms, creating a piece that looks as though it's been part of the potting shed for years.
To complement the garden-inspired theme, he creates decorative plant labels using stamps, moulds, and resin castings, then finishes them with a Spanish copper gilding wax for a softly aged look. These little details add so much character and make the finished piece feel extra special.
