Here at IOD we love bringing you new innovations that make creating easier! You might have been around long enough to know that over the years, we’ve made some additions to our moulds like our micro rim and measure marks. The micro rim is a small raised edge around each mould cavity. It makes getting a crisp, clean edge along the base of your casting easy-peasy. The micro rim also allows you to quickly smooth and level the back of your casting so it will sit flush on your project surface. Or our measure marks which make it easy to know how much material to use for each cast in the mould.

Well, we are especially excited to announce that we've added another handy innovation in this release. Say hello to IOD Stack and Sort Labels - that’s right, the product names are now embossed right on the side of our new moulds. Now you can easily store your moulds and see which one you want to grab without having to flip through them or write on the sides with Sharpie (you know who you are😉).

P.S. If you are new here, you should know that you can use so many different mediums in IOD moulds: IOD Air Dry Clay, resin, polymer clay, cookie dough, fondant, chocolate and more…just don’t use the same set of moulds for both food and crafts because no one likes clay in their cookies.

Handy Tip: When using air-dried clay, you can experience some shrinkage. Watch our Mould 101 video to learn some techniques to address gapping or cracking that might occur in the drying process. If you want to avoid any shrinkage, use resin for your castings.
