Step-by-Step Guide:
STEP 1 - PREPARE YOUR SURFACE
This is a step that we skipped because our buckets were already finished. If you thrifted your buckets or are working with something that needs a little touch-up, make sure your surface is clean and that any paint is thoroughly dry. One of the most common issues we see when applying transfers is actually a paint application issue. In most instances, we see that the paint is not dry enough for application or the surface the paint was applied to was not prepped properly, causing the paint to lift with the transfer application. Our IOD Transfer 101 tutorial will give you all of the best tips and tricks.
STEP 2 - CHOOSE YOUR DESIGN
Grab your IOD Seed Catalogue Transfer and choose a design for your project. This transfer set comes with eight pages of vibrant and truly timeless designs to choose from. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of designs left over for more fun IOD projects.
STEP 3 - TRANSFER YOUR DESIGN
Remove the transfer from its white backing. Position the transfer over your planter, making sure that it does not touch until you are happy with the placement, and then commit.
Using the transfer applicator provided in your Seed Catalogue transfer, start at one end of the transfer and rub firmly to adhere the image to the surface. Do this until the entire image is transferred. If any parts aren’t transferred when you lift, simply lay it back down and rub more on that portion. After it is transferred, use a small piece of the plastic backing sheet to burnish (smooth down) any bits that aren’t adhered fully.
Voila! Happy making IOD lovelies!
