You can create so many different finishes with IOD moulds, but sometimes you just don’t know where to start! There can be lots of layers and products involved, and you just need someone to show you the ropes. Well, today, Shannon from Pickin’ Boots Vintage is going to take you through the process of creating a concrete planter dupe with the IOD Juliette Rose Mould - the end result looks like perfectly aged concrete!

The Juliette Mould is overflowing with gorgeous detail. In fact, the entire mould is just one piece! For best results, after you put your clay in your mould you will want to freeze your mould for about 20 mins, and then pop the casting out. Make sure you wait for it to fully dethaw before adding to your project (yes, you need to be patient! 😉, otherwise, your casting will be more prone to breakage. Never fear, though, just as Shannon demos in this video, if a piece comes apart, it’s easy to add back in!

The final hanging planter is perfect for a screened porch area, or backyard (just make sure the IOD air dry clay is sealed with a top coat from water for outdoor purposes). And don’t stop here, this fun concrete technique can be used for other projects too!

Alright, grab your IOD supplies from your local stockist, and let’s get those hands making something beautiful today!!
