Who doesn’t love a good thrift flip? 😍 Our dear friend and IOD Artisan, Lynne Brundage, upcycled a simple jar into a vintage European crock using the Clementine Transfer from our 2025 Holiday Collection.

Lynne starts with a bonding primer and paint, then layers her transfers. She even incorporates a two-step crackle technique and antiquing glaze to mimic the mineral deposits and rust you’d find in a centuries-old crockery. By the end, this scrumptious jar is completely reimagined into a piece that looks like it was uncovered from a French flea market.

IOD Products Needed:

Other Supplies:

  • White Chalk Type Paint*
  • Rust Brown Chalk Type Paint
  • Crackle Glaze
  • Antique Glaze
  • Cloth
  • Thrifted Vase or Jar

*we used a chalk-type paint in this tutorial, but there are many brands and types of paint, talk to your stockist to learn which one is right for you!
